I had the pleasure of playing one of your AvP2 servers today and thouroghly enjoyed it. It was a great atomosphere and stable server and just the welcome back to AvP2 I was looking for after being away for at least 5 years. Im obviously very rusty and outa date of proper etiquete and I hope you dont mind me crashing your server, i certainly plan to return. I hope I get the chance to meet SG members online at some point in your servers. Anyway cant really say more than that, Ozy

Posts: 6 Wed, Jun 10, 2009 5:58 AM	Yes, I notice that SGC plays some that I do such as BF 2 etc. I also use to play a few mmo's such as SWG and LOTRO oh and a few other online games such as Bridge Commander. You seem familiar as well but cant quite place the game I know you from. Was it COD 4?

Posts: 219 Wed, Jun 10, 2009 12:29 PM	maybe, i play bf2, bf2142, css and almost all the mods, used to play cod4 on 360 (until it got stolen) used to play SWG but not under my spawn613 name, and l4d. i think i played you in css when i used to be in the LG clan. did you play anything older than that, like XWA, Tribes 2, or R6: Rogue Spear? Posts: 6 Thu, Jun 11, 2009 10:50 AM	Thats going back a while, Ill have to check my old games....I know I used to play Arma, Vietcong and Ghost Recon.......memory is going. This is going to bug me now Spawn as Im am pretty certain that we used to game a few years back. Ill remember when I least expect it Im certain it was on the PC Platform and not the x 360.

I hope you will not be offended if I do not take up your offer at this moment and still allow me to crash your servers when I can get on the PC......if only to be used for target practice.

Posts: 6 Sat, Jun 20, 2009 7:29 PM	Guys, I need a hand. I had a real pig to install this game and get online but I have enjoyed my time and my friends have heard about it. I posted on Lith and that was a help but now I am really puzzled. I have some friends who I spent a great deal of time of getting them the right downloads and versions. Finanly when they have all and we start off they get probs. Irony is they are on similar PC's to me and for example on SM 1.2.2 they crash etc. One cant even play SP, oh well.....Id appreciate any guidelines (They have legal copies of the game, prob is with Saviour Mod). One friend ran SM 1.2.2 and it crashed his game to desktop, another couldnt even try SP). We have tried other patches, they run xp like me on medicore systems only true difference I can establish is there IP....could this be a prob? Im keen to get them playing as I have raved about the community still going. Id appreciate anyhelp SGC can give. I have come to you guys as you seem to be a open and genuine bunch! Kind Regards, Ozy

Posts: 350 Sat, Jun 20, 2009 7:43 PM AVP2 AGDL	It goes in this order - install the game - install the 1096 patch - install the savior mod - http://master.lithfaq.com/ The savior mod has problems with some apps, maybe anti virus programs or whatever...works different for different ppl. I use the 1.2.1 - doesnt freeze but shows no servers. http://master.lithfaq.com/download/AvP2SMSInstall_v1.2.1.zip You need to find out which version works for you. if 121 doesnt work try installing 1.22, then 123. The new 1.3 patch will be coming out really soon. If nothing works you can always join trough gamespy arcade, half life server watch or xfire.

Also, rather naff question but Im sure you can help. I tried hosting my on server but got a exception saying I was missing a file....I presume I need to download a new dedicated server? Also wasnt able to host a lan game, I was planning to use Hamachi with them and use this to see if it was router prob. I also didnt mention that they have not got ump_2 yet, would this effect the server listing?

About hosting a server you better ask at Lithfaq or the Rommie forum - http://mod.avp2.org/forum/ I wouldn't know anything about LAN hosting. You can ask them about that too.
